NV.DIGITAL and Maptech BSB are scanned copies of the original paper charts. What you get on the screen is exactlyy what you get on the paper chart, nothing more, nothing less. The chart coverage is excellent in Europe and North America. The charts are delivered on DVDs and should be copied to your hard drive.

NAVIONICS are vector charts with almost complete World coverage. Navionics charts are used on many chart plotters, and are delivered on small CF or SD cartridges. They can be used on a PC with Navionics Multicard Reader. The charts are drawn in layers so you can select what to show or hide, and contains a lot of information on chart objects, tides and current etc. The charts can be rotated and displayed course up.

Navionics Gold cover very large areas (e.g. UK & Ireland on one cartridge) while Navionics Platinum charts contain a lot of extras like port photos, pilot books and 3D charts. TIKI can read both Navionics Gold and Platinum charts, but does not display 3D charts.

PLEASE NOTE that TIKI Navionics does NOT yet read the very new extremely large charts 1XG, 2XG and 3XG for the American Continent. We are working on it.
